Oriental metal pioneers, ORPHANED LAND, have just released the digital single “Chains Fall To Gravity”, taken off their upcoming album “Unsung Prophets & Dead Messiahs”, which will be released this Friday, January 26^th, 2018. The song features a guest solo performance by guitar virtuoso Steve Hackett (STEVE HACKETT, ex-GENESIS)!
 
Kobi Farhi explains, “'Chains Fall To Gravity? is a very important song on our new album and its concept. It is the point where the hero is being unchained and starts his way out of the cave, and for the first time he has to leave anything he thought to be the truth. I remember telling Steve Hackett about this song and the concept and he was definitely put all these emotions into the guitar solo he performed here, which is in my opinion, one of the best guitar solos ever on an Orphaned Land song. We are just too lucky and honored to have a rock legend playing with us in this one!"
 
Steve Hackett comments: “I was thrilled to have Kobi Farhi sing on one of my album tracks. His voice sounds beautiful and mystical on the track. It was equally a pleasure to do a guitar solo for this exciting track on Orphaned Land's album, which has a great vibe!”

Belgium’s WIEGEDOOD are sharing first details about “De Doden Hebben Het Goed III”. The final chapter of their “De Doden Hebben Het Goed” trilogy will be out April 20^th, so right before their performance on the Sunday of this year’s Roadburn Festival.
 
WIEGEDOOD about the cover which was done by Stefaan Temmerman: "The picture for this cover was taken in Sint-Eloois-Winkel, a small town near Kortrijk where Levy grew up. Subsequently, the cover for ‘De Doden Hebben Het Goed II’ was taken in De Haan, where Gilles spent his childhood and the first cover picture was taken in Ransberg, where Wim grew up and is still living today.”
 
After being formed in 2014 by Levy Seynaeve (Amenra, Oathbreaker) as well as Wim Coppers and Gilles Demolder (both also in Oathbreaker) WIEGEDOOD quickly became a household name in the European extreme metal scene. Both of their previous albums, “De Doden Hebben Het Goed” and “De Doden Hebben Het Goed II”, as well as their furious and cathartic live performances made waves beyond the realms of black metal.

This reissue also includes the tracks ‘Weather The Storm’ (feat. Mikael Stanne / Dark Tranquillity) and ‘Beyond The Horizon’, which were only available digitally before. While the original LP was a Standard LP format (1 LP, no CD, normal cover sleeve), “One For Sorrow” will now be available as Gatefold 2LP+CD and was mastered for vinyl to ensure the best possible listening quality! About one year ago WITHERFALL self-released their debut album in North America, followed by a European release through Century Media Records in October 2017. The band about the album cover: “We used the elements Earth, Air, Fire, and Water as symbols for realization, ideas, power, and emotion,” guitarist Marc Görtz explains. “These symbols inspire us to continue to do what we love the most, which is to create, evolve, and be inspired by our music. And these elements directly correspond to the cover art, which was done by Marcel Gadacz (Dream On, Dreamer). He did the art for ‘Gravity’, so we’re happy to have him back.”
For “Elements”, CALIBAN brought back long-time collaborator—going all the way back to 2007’s “The Awakening”—and studio wizard Benny Richter to co-produce with Görtz at his Nemesis Studios. CALIBAN also hired on Germany-based Andy Posdziech (Any Given Day) and buddy Sebastian ‘Sushi’ Biesler (Eskimo Callboy), as well as Australia-based Callan Orr (Dream On, Dreamer) to assist in the recording process. “Elements” was mixed by Görtz and mastered by Olman Viper, whose repertoire includes previous CALIBAN albums “I Am Nemesis” (2012), “Ghost Empire” (2014), “Gravity” (2016).
“The production on Elements was pretty different,” says Görtz. “The instrumental side of the production was produced by me, Andy, and Callan. Then, Benny and myself worked on fine-tuning the music. The vocals, however, were produced by Benny, with Sushi acting as a vocal coach. We wanted Benny to focus on the vocals and the vocal production. Getting them right was very important to us.”

Dutch destroyers DEATH ALLEY have launched a video for their latest single “Murder Your Dreams” today! The song is taken off their upcoming album “Superbia” which will be released on March 23^rd, 2018 through Century Media Records.
 
The band comments, “‘Murder Your Dreams’ shows a side of our musicality that was always there but never revealed itself in our music before. Just when we needed it, The Wipers came knocking and we crushed them to bits. A bittersweet taste of ‘Superbia’ in its most compact form."
 
Video director Luuk Bouwman explains, "The video is based on chase and falling dreams - which I felt would fit well with the song. I remembered a great scene in the ‘Nightmare on Elmstreet’ series in which the characters are stuck in a loop. So I wanted to create a nightmare-like slapstick in which the protagonist is condemned to keep falling, eternally. I was already joking that it was an autobiographical story and as if it was an ominous prophecy, a day after finishing the video I fell really hard on a bridge because of black ice. I broke my arm, cheekbone and eye socket. So last week I was in surgery to reconstruct my face."

Swedish invincible death/black metal squadron UNANIMATED have signed a worldwide 3-album deal with Century Media Records.
 
Bass player and founding member Richard Cabeza comments on the signing:
„We are very pleased to announce that Unanimated has signed a deal with Century Media Records. The time is right and the time is now! To once again return to spread darkness and unleash the firestorm upon this earth. We are looking forward working with Century Media with the forthcoming new Unanimated album. Recordings will start in early 2018 for a release in autumn 2018. Then we will get on the road to start playing shows. Prepare!“

Formed in 1988 in Stockholm, Sweden, UNANIMATED were amongst the first bands to entwine Nordic death metal with melodic lead guitars and black metal atmosphere. The debut album “In The Forest Of The Dreaming Dead” (1993) and especially the second album “Ancient God Of Evil” (1995) stirred up the international extreme metal scene, the latter one justly considered one of the most influential and best albums of the Swedish melodic death/black until this very day, and made UNANIMATED one of the most promising bands of the entire extreme metal genre. It took UNANIMATED fifteen years to return with their third opus, “In The Light Of Darkness”, showcasing the band in top form. In contrast to the usual reunion album approach of many bands simply trying to revive the sound they were famous for, UNANIMATED further developed their sound towards a more evil and harsh direction by adding additional black metal elements, musically and visually, to the band’s style.
 
Eight years have passed since the release of “In The Light Of Darkness”. Eight years in vigilant slumber. Eight years UNANIMTED have whetted the Reaper’s scythe to once more herald their triumphant return. Now they are back to punish the world with the wrath of death, the fire of hell and the force of darkness.
 
UNANIMATED’s eagerly awaited fourth studio album is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2018.

Houston-based progressive metal outfit, OCEANS OF SLUMBER, have launched a video for their new single “No Color, No Light”. The song is taken off the band’s upcoming album “The Banished Heart”, to be released on March 2, 2018 through Century Media Records, and features guest vocals by Evergrey’s Tom Englund.

Drummer Dobber comments, “‘No Color, No Light’ was the last song the band wrote for the album and our answer to love’s deathly bellows. A song about crossing into the darkness and chasing the shadows to find her or him. Would you answer the call? Don’t wait....”
